Ontario Provincial Police in Chatham-Kent have charged a local man following a traffic stop this week.
According to police, on November 16, just after 10 a.m. an officer stopped a passenger vehicle with an expired vehicle permit on the westbound Highway 401 near the 90-Kilometer marker in the municipality.
Following an investigation, a 40-year-old man from Windsor was charged.
He's facing one count each of operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court, drive motor vehicle with no currently validated permit, and two counts of driving while under suspension.
He's scheduled to appear in Chatham court on January 9, 2024.
A 45-day vehicle impoundment was also initiated as per statute.
