Windsor police are now investigating their ninth murder of the year
A 36-year-old man, who fell from the Ivy Rose hotel balcony on Howard Avenue early Monday morning, has now passed away.
Police were called when the man was critically injured after allegedly being dropped from the second floor of the building.
Sergeant Steve Betteridge says police quicky determined a crime had been committed.
"Originally it was, somebody had dropped from a balcony and from that, an investigation was launched to find out what happened and early on, it was determined there could be a criminal element involved with this," he says.
Robert Legebow, 19, of Windsor has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
The ninth murder investigation came just two days after police were investigating a death early Saturday.
Officers were called to an apartment building at 395 University Ave. E. near McDougall St. for a sick or injured person at around 4am Saturday.
When they arrived, they found 37-year-old Windsor man dead and showing, "obvious signs of trauma."
Investigators tracked down two suspects Saturday.
Windsor's Lamar Day, 28, is charged with first degree murder and forcible confinement.
Raheem Washington, a 25-year-old man from Windsor, is charged with first degree murder, forcible confinement, and numerous charges for breaching conditions and failing to appear in court.
