Windsor firefighters have come through in memory for a little superhero.
Friday morning, firefighters presented a cheque worth $15,000 to the Fight Like Mason Foundation.
The money was raised from the sale of the 2018 Windsor firefighters calendar which also included a superhero theme.
"It's incredible," says Iain Macri, Mason's dad. "This is actually our largest donation to date, so we are completely humbled, honoured and privileged to have the firefighters support us like this."
The Fight Like Mason Foundation honours four-year-old Mason Macri of Lakeshore who passed away from cancer in June 2016.
Mason was a big fan of superheroes and firefighters during his battle with cancer.
"He would be so proud of this and he would be so excited to see a superhero calendar of guys he would want to be like," says Macri. "Getting a cheque like this, just almost brings a tear to my eye that people really believe in what we are trying to do and are trying to take a stand for childhood cancer which is something that hasn't been done in a long time."

The foundation will use the money to support research for childhood cancer, child-friendly IV poles and other programs.
Calendar Committee Chair Dan Sementilli points out the goal was to raise $15,000.
