A Windsor-based charity that helps children with Down Syndrome is getting a big boost from Windsor firefighters.
Proceeds from the sale of Windsor firefighter calendars this year have been presented to the Chasing Hazel Foundation.
A cheque for $20,000 has been presented at Fire Station #1 on Thursday.

Stephanie and Matt Seguin created the foundation and are overwhelmed by the donation.

Stephanie Seguin says this will allow them to do so much more with the kids.
She says this donation supports their current work and where they hope to go.
"To support individuals with Down Syndrome in our community and just express their worth and value and what they bring to our families and communities. Hopefully soon we'll outreach to other disabilities as well, but right now we have a daughter, a 7-year-old daughter with Down Syndrome and she is the inspiration behind everything we do"
Firefighter Dan Sementilli has been in the calendar for five years and is pleased the project is able to help out.
"When you see that number, that $20,000 today, you know it's going to make a difference they're going to be able to institute the programs they want to do and really make an impact. We knew the more we could give the bigger impact, not that we could have, but they could have on the community"
the major project of the Chasing Hazel Foundation this year has been a cross-fit program for kids with Down Syndrome and others.
Over the past five years the calendar has raised over $100,000 for a number of different charitable groups.
