The Windsor Express have issued an apology.
President and CEO Dartis Willis says an incident happened at Saturday's home opener for the NBL team involving one of the youth dance teams.
He says the dancers were suppose to hit the court and perform prior to the game but their performance was pushed back.
Willis says they still performed but it was in between the first and second quarters, and their set was cut short by a little more than a minute and it upset parents.
Willis tells AM800 News he apologized to the performers and their parents immediately.
"I actually personally apologized to the kids and the parents themselves the same night," says Willis. "You know with any sport, things can get behind and we got behind and the kids were not able to perform at the beginning and so we moved them to my understanding from my game day ops young lady, we moved them to the first break."
Willis says it's the first time the team has dealt with incident like this.
"We never ever had a complaint but sometimes when that buzzer goes, it's just irritating to everybody and the parents were more up in arms then anything else," says Willis.
Willis says he has invited the performers to come back to a future home game and dance.
According to Willis, the Express have welcomed 250 groups in seven years to perform at games.
