The National Basketball League of Canada has named Tyrrel Tate of the Windsor Express, Canadian Player of the Week.
Tate, a 6'5" forward from Calgary who played collegiately at Fayetteville State, averaged 16.5 points per game in three Windsor victories this past week, helping the Express rise to the upper half of the NBL Canada standings.
"Tyrrel Tate is a great example of a player improving his skills after a trade to a new team," said Chuck Miller, NBL Canada Director of Statistics. "The Windsor Express were a perfect fit for Tate, and he in turn has helped the Express move from the bottom of the standings to nearly the top."
The next game for the Express is Sunday, Feb 3 at 2pm in Kitchener, against the Titans.
