A report indicates Windsor-Essex will continue to be one of Canada's hottest real estate markets in the new year.
RE/MAX expects the average home price in Canada to increase two-percent in 2017.
In Windsor-Essex, the real estate agency is forecasting a five-percent increase in the average home price, rising to $237,791.
The report projects Hamilton-Burlington to have the biggest average home price increase, with an 11-percent jump expected.
Only Kitchener-Waterloo, the G-T-A, Montreal and London are above Windsor-Essex on that list.
While the year is not over yet, RE/MAX estimates the average home price in this area will be $226,468 for 2016, a 13-percent jump over 2015.
In 2013, the average home price in Windsor-Essex was $183,518.
RE/MAX also reports Windsor’s luxury market saw significant activity in 2016 as a record 34 properties were sold for over $1 million in the region.
