Windsor-Essex Pride Fest is looking for a new home but it is still committed to staying in the downtown.
Since 2011, Windsor-Essex Pride Fest used office space on the ground floor of the Pelissier Street Parking Garage but following a decision by Windsor City Council, it will have to relocate.
Council voted 7-4 to convert the retail space to parking spots because the majority of the retail space is empty.
Windsor-Essex Pride Fest President David Lenz says the group will remain in the city core.
"We like the area of the downtown because the majority of the festival we put on in the summer takes place in the downtown so it is easier for us to move equipment and we like the walkability of the downtown," says Lenz.
Although he is disappointed in council's decision, he says he respects it and it is time to move forward.
Tenants have been given six months to find a new location.
