A new report from Stats Canada examined the percentage of full-service establishments, fast food establishments and bars for every province/territory and city in Canada.
Windsor has 7% of its food and beverage establishments listed as bars, and 52% are limited serving eating places, both are above the Ontario (4%/48%) and Canadian (6%/50%) average.
When it comes to the rate of limited serving eating places per 10,000 people, Windsor has a rate of 9.9. The report lists metro Windsor as having 55 bars, 412 limited serving eating places and 325 full-service establishments.
Toronto had the highest rate of fast food restaurants per 10,000 population, at 13.3, followed by Vancouver and Calgary.
The lowest rates were in Saguenay, followed by Sherbrooke and Quebec.
But despite a high percentage of its food and beverage establishments being fast food, the rate is below both the Ontario (11.9) and Canadian (10.7) average.
