Weather advisory issued for the region with rain showers and flurries expected today

Snowfall and rapidly falling temperatures could affect road conditions late this afternoon or during the evening.

A cold front will track over Southern Ontario through the day. As this front passes, temperatures will drop below the freezing mark and scattered rain showers will change to flurries. As a result, untreated surfaces could become icy and slippery.

Today: Mainly cloudy. A few rain showers beginning this afternoon. Rain showers and flurries late this afternoon. Wind becoming southwest 20 km/h gusting to 50 this morning then west 40 gusting to 60 late this afternoon. High 8C with temperature falling to 2C this afternoon.

Tonight: A few flurries ending late this evening then partly cloudy. Local blowing snow this evening. Wind northwest 40 km/h gusting to 60 becoming north 20 after midnight. Low minus 7C.

Friday: A mix of sun and cloud with 40% chance of flurries. Wind north 20 km/h becoming light in the afternoon. High 0C.

Saturday: A mix of sun and cloud. High plus 2C.

Sunday: Cloudy with 30% chance of showers. High plus 4C.
