Local skaters were well represented on the ice in Oakville at the 2019 Skate Ontario Sectionals.
The competition was held from November 1 through November 4.
In the Senior Women's category, Alison Schumacher took home gold as the provincial champion. She represented the Riverside Skating Club.
Riverside Skating Club also saw Katherine Karon advance from the Sectionals competition in the Novice division.

Jake Ellis captured the bronze medal in the Novice division skating out of the South Windsor Skating Club.
Kieran Thrasher with South Windsor Skating Club also advanced from the Sectional competition in Pre-Novice category.
Also advancing to the next competition is South Windsor Skating Club's Maia Iannetta in the Junior Dance competition along with her partner Liam Carr out of the Ilderton Skating Club.
All those advancing from the Sectionals will compete in the national competition, the 2019 Skate Canada Challenge, being held November 28 - December 2 at the Terwillegar Community Recreation Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.
A number of other local skaters took part in the competition in Oakville over the weekend including Skate LaSalle's Arista Lee and Abby Bouma and South Windsor Skating Club's Rian Cocchetto.
