Windsor Eats is getting set to bring a new wine fest to Windsor-Essex.
City council has given final approval for the Urban Wine Fest to go ahead this summer.
"We look at it as something that's very important to the fabric of what Windsor-Essex is as a tourism destination," says Windsor Eats co-founder Adriano Ciotoli. "There's people from all over, not just Ontario, Michigan, Ohio, even all over the world that are coming here and travelling and visiting our wineries. This is just kind of that natural progression of being able to expand the offering."
He says it is another great opportunity to showcase the wineries in the region as well as international wines.
"We sat with the head of EPIC Wineries, we've spoken with some of the wineries, we already have a bunch of them signed on ready to go. They seem pretty excited to be having a festival back within the region," he says.
The Urban Wine Fest goes June 28 and 29 in Lanspeary Park.
