A Windsor doctor has been cleared of all charges of sexual assault, but didn't walk away without a conviction this time around.

Dr. Ravi Shenava was acquitted of five counts of sexual assault and one count of extortion in December of 2017.

His lawyer David Humphrey tells AM800's Teresinha Medeiros Shenava pleaded not guilty to three separate counts of sexual assault Thursday, but pleaded guilty to the lesser but included three counts of assault.

Humphrey says the judge accepted a joint submission on sentencing — Shenava received a fine of $3,000 plus another $900 for a victim fine surcharge.

Shenava will be on probation for two years and has surrendered his license to practice medicine.
