A Windsor company has been fined after a worker was critically injured in October 2016.
CMF Group must pay $75,000 after a beam being lifted into the air became unbalanced and slid, striking one of the workers.
The court also imposed a 25% victim fine surcharge as required by the Provincial Offences Act — the surcharge is credited to a special provincial government fund to assist victims of crime.
According to the Ministry of Labour, CMF failed to ensure that the measures and procedures prescribed outlined in the Regulation for Construction Projects were complied with.
The company is located on Sprucewood Ave but the worker was injured on a job site at Service Mold + Aerospace on St. Etienne Blvd. in Windsor, where new milling machines were being installed.
