A Windsor company has been fined after a workplace injury.
K-Scrap Resources on Hill Ave. in Windsor has been ordered to pay $55,000 after a worker was knocked to the ground by some tubing in May 2017.
According to a report from the Ministry of Labour, the worker was cutting some steel pipe tubes when a railcar being pushed on a track passed the area and struck the ends of two tubes that were protruding.
In addition to the fine, the company must also pay a 25% victim surcharge that is is credited to a special provincial government fund to assist victims of crime.
