Windsor's 10 business improvement areas are getting some sprucing up.
The city is receiving over $220,000 from the Association of Municipalities of Ontario under its Main Street Revitalization Initiative.
Stefan Fediuk is with the city's planning department and says the majority of the cash will be used for benches, bike racks and trash and recycle cans.
He says they'll be replacing broken fixtures while installing some at new locations as well.
"Council decided that we would focus on any of the streetscaping that had been lost through damage, complete breakage or just beyond repair and also to find out some areas where there might have been something missing where there should have been something, but it never got installed," says Fediuk.
He says every BIA will be getting something new.
"There's a bit of money going to each one of them. Some a little bit more, those that haven't received funding over the years, some of those that have just received funding, maybe a few things that may have gotten missed, we'll be adding a few things there," says Fediuk.
He says the funding has to be spent by April 2020, but he'd like to see everything in place by the end of this summer.
Council will be asked to approve the plan at its regular meeting Monday night.
