Nurses at the Windsor Assembly Plant have ratified a new contract.
Details of the agreement have not been released but Vice-President of the Ontario Nurses Association, Vicki McKenna says even though the members did not achieved everything they had hoped for, they made some strides.
"Baby steps were made in this deal," says McKenna. "I do know that they didn't achieve everything they had hoped but they did make some lead way. I think in this sector, manufacturing and auto, they know the struggle and difficulties as well but they did make some head way."
ONA represents 16 nurses at the plant.
A strike by the nurses would have impacted production if Unifor Local 444, which represents workers at the plant, ended up respecting the picket line and not crossing it.
