A friendly bet between the mayors of Windsor and London as the OHL Western Conference quarterfinals begin tonight.
The Windsor Spitfires and London Knights will meet in Game One in London.
London Mayor Matt Brown reached out to Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens on Twitter to place a bet.
If the Knights win, Mayor Dilkens has to hand over a bottle of JP Wisers but if the Spits win, Brown has to hand over a six-pack of a London craft beer.
Dilkens says it is all in good fun: "There is a huge excitement in the community, as we are on the heels here of the Memorial Cup that will be happening in just a couple months time, so to have this long standing rivalry happen on the heels of the Memorial Cup is very very exciting."
As for a prediction on the series, Dilkens is picking the Spitfires. "They may have a slight advantage over us but we have a team with heart, and team with soul, and a team that is bringing home the Memorial Cup in May. I think that is just the right formula to produce a winning result here against London."
The London Knights are the defending Memorial Cup Champions.
