Windsor is getting $3.5-million from the province for its share of gas tax funding for municipalities.
Ontario helps 99 cities and towns to help them enhance and expand their transit systems, to reduce congestion and shorten commute times.
The province says one bus takes up to 40 vehicles off the road and keeps 25 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions out of the atmosphere each year.
Ontario's gas tax program gives municipalities two cents per litre of provincial gas tax revenues.
Leamington and Kingsville are sharing $177,066, Tecumseh is receiving $110,510 and LaSalle gets $56,258.
