An investigation is underway after a wind turbine in Chatham-Kent broke in half.
The municipality was informed Friday morning of the incident that is part of the wind energy project, located at the corner of Drake Rd. and 16 Line.
There were no 911 calls and no one was hurt.
The turbine has been disconnected from the power grid.
Fire and Paramedic Chief Bob Crawford went to the site and says Terraform Power crews have the lead and are investigating.
Safety fencing is being put up around the broken turbine and Chatham-Kent police are on scene.
