An opportunity to say thank you and good bye.
Dr. Alan Wildeman says "It's been a great honour, it's a great institution and Windsor-Essex is a wonderful place to live."
The University of Windsor President hosted an open house Thursday afternoon for the campus community, faculty and staff — he announced in January of last year the 2017-18 school year would be his last.
Wildeman says he's just one person and everybody involved with the school has helped to drive the change.

"When the Huffington Post came out this last year and said the University of Windsor is the number one university in Canada to watch, that said that there's a lot of people here doing something right."
Wildeman says a university is never finished and there's always things to do, he says "in terms of what I wanted to do, it would have been nice if we could have got a resolution on the Paul Martin building but I've got another few weeks to poke at that one and see what we can do about it."
Wildeman will officially be done on June 30th.
A news release was issued by the university in March (March 19th), naming Provost Douglas Kneale as interim president when Alan Wildeman steps down.
