WINDSOR — The curtain has come down on this year's Windsor International Film Festival.
Organizers have announced the 2020 festival, originally planned for November, has been cancelled for the safety and wellbeing of patrons, volunteers and staff.
Executive Director Vincent Georgie calls it a difficult decision, but in many ways an easy decision as the festival is about bringing people together through film.
Last year, over 42,000 tickets were sold.
Georgie says 2019 was an exceptional year and they look forward to build on that momentum for the 2021 version.
