The WFCU Credit Union donated $5,000 worth of school supplies to children living in one of the hardest hit areas in last weeks flooding.
Residents of Alix Sinkevitch Townhouses on Ypres Ave. near Central Ave. are already living without hot water. They also lost most of their perishable food items when power could not be restored for several days.
The credit union didn't just write a cheque, employees, including President and CEO Eddie Francis, purchased backpacks and everything needed to fill them and delivered them personally Monday.
Staff allowed each child, from 70-households, to choose what they needed in their pack for a successful school year.
