The WFCU Credit Union has scored with the Ontario Hockey League as it has been named the official credit union of the league.
Credit Union President Eddie Francis says the partnership allows the WFCU Credit Union to strengthen and grow its brand across the province.
"We have been long supporters of the OHL," he says. "We have a history and tradition in supporting the Windsor Spitfires and being the official financial institution of choice for the Windsor Spitfires and everybody knows of our sponsorship of the WFCU Centre."
He says the goal is to branch out and it provides the WFCU Credit Union the opportunity to further promote the WFCU brand and grow outside of Windsor-Essex.
"We have our Omnia Direct division that services the market outside of Windsor-Essex area. A lot of commercial deals that we do right now are deals that are outside of Windsor-Essex area and across Ontario," says Francis.
"Supporting youth and our communities are shared goals which makes this partnership fitting," says OHL Commissioner David Branch.
In 2008, the WFCU Credit Union scored the naming rights to Windsor's newly built arena in the east end.
The WFCU Credit Union has been serving Windsor-Essex for over 75 years and has nine retail locations locally.
