It's been 140 years for Sandwich Town's Dominion House.
The tavern was established in 1878 and has seen a few additions, but still maintains much of the existing structure.
Co-Owner Chris Mickle tells AM800 News the building is only part of the history.
"There's not a day that goes by at The Dominion House where you don't run into a former customer or guest of the DH where they come in and tell stories about when they were in university and they used to hang out," he says. "I've run into people that used to live upstairs when it was a rooming house back in the '60s and '70s."
The DH staff has put together some memorabilia and special menu items to go along with live music to mark the occasion
"Staff photo's, menus from as early as 1930, all kinds of pictures and newspaper clippings and articles. We're going to put all that stuff we've been collecting for about seven years on display for everybody to see," says Mickle.
Mickle says the community atmosphere of the watering hole will hold true for the celebration.
"Everybody can come by whenever they like, we're inviting all of our past customers, present customers, past and present for an open house," he says.
The open house runs until Sunday.
