A business and people living in a building in Windsor's west end have been forced out due to unsafe conditions.
'Billie's Place Pub and Eatery' at 3177 Sandwich St. W. has been shut down while the building under goes repairs.
The Chief Building Official for the City of Windsor, John Revell says there are some issues with the front facade. He says that led to the owner hiring an engineer and an architect, who discovered other issues with the building that need to be addressed. Revell says this seems to be in good hands.
"The owners are making efforts and taking steps to find alternative accommodations for the tenants," says Revell. "So this is just a precautionary measure will steps are taken. It was noted that the facade had damage to it. It was beginning to crumble a little bit and the brickwork was cracked. The owner was cooperative so a permit was issued for the remedial work."

Revell says the city has not issued any orders at this time.
"So long as they're working toward and solution and taking care to ensure public safety the building department is satisfied. It doesn't require a lot of action on our part. Only when we have uncooperative owners do we have to get involved deeply."
The owners are working to find accommodations for the people living in the building. City building inspectors plan to meet today with the engineer and architect hired by the owners to discuss the status of the structure.
