The Windsor-West PC candidate is calling the withdrawal of Patrick Brown from the leadership race an "opportunity for a new beginning."
In a statement released Monday, Adam Ibrahim admits Brown was a mentor, friend and cared greatly for Windsor.
He says while some people will try to discredit all the hard work Brown has done for the province, he believes he was an 'inspiration and motivator for change throughout Ontario.'
Brown resigned from his old job last month amid allegations of sexual misconduct first reported by CTV News.
He then filed to run again to get his job back before withdrawing Monday.
He said he needs to focus on holding CTV accountable, push the remaining candidates on policy and to protect his family and friends.
Brown was in Windsor this past Saturday to help open the campaign headquarters for Windsor-Tecumseh candidate Mohammad Latif.
