One of Windsor's first-time councillors is making his way through the 2019 city budget.
Ward Two Councillor Fabio Costante admits its a large document to get through and he's consulting with administration.
Costante also wants to hear from constituents about their concerns in the budget.
He says he wants to schedule sessions to hear from people in the ward.
"To meet with residents in the community and even have a town hall forum at some point in the next week or so regarding consulting the community on what they'd like to see"
He wants to reduce the increase from 3.3%, but knows it won't be easy.
"At what cost is the question, so I'm open to seeing ways in which we can be more efficient and be wise with out dollars . If we can get it under two, in or around inflation, I think that would be the responsible thing to do"
He says this is his first city budget, but he's dealt with a $250-million school board budget for the past four years.
Costante wants to know what elements in the budget his constituents want kept in and what one they are comfortable with reducing.
