A sigh of relief from a west end business owner.
The owner of Fred's Farm Fresh on Huron Church Rd. Fred Bouzide says he's heard from the Ministry of Transportation that the westbound off-ramp from the EC Row Expressway to Huron Church will open Tuesday at 7pm.
As AM800 news told you last week, Bouzide was critical that construction around his business was affecting sales by about 10%.
"Now all three lanes are open now which is good and the off ramp is finishing up and they are going to open it up at 7:00"
He complained that the off-ramp plus Northwood which runs behind is business were closed due to construction.
"They did both of the closures at the same time," says Bouzide. "If they would have done the Huron Church one first and then close the other one next, it would have been great."
The MTO was responsible for doing the off-ramp work — the city is doing the work on Northwood.
City Engineer Mark Winterton told AM800 News last week, it makes more sense to do the work now when traffic volumes are down.
