It's a sad day at Lazee G Ranch in Windsor where the death of one of its well-known horses has been announced.
Sam I Am died on Sunday at the age of 36 and was part of the riding school for 24-years.
Owner Brenda Gagnon says Sam lived a long life, considering horses usually live up to 33-years of age.
"A lot of horses in riding schools don't last that long just because there are a lot of beginners that use these horses and they're not quite sure when they're making mistakes and when they're not," says Gagnon. "So he was a very patient, loving horse."
"He showed very well," says Gagnon. "He was a very prancy horse. When you competed him you knew he was bigger than life. He just loved his job. He loved competing, he loved jumping, he loved doing westerns."
Gagnon says it's definitely unique for a riding school to have a horse teach for as long as he did.
"I know he has touched a lot of people, he really has because he's one of our beginner horses and he just gave them time to learn," says Gagnon.
According to Gagnon, the horse died of natural causes.
