A familiar face has returned to the table at Essex County Council.
"It's great to be back to work," says Amherstburg Mayor Aldo DiCarlo. "I miss it."
DiCarlo attended Wednesday night's council meeting for the first time in a couple of months.
In mid-June, he posted on his Facebook page the reason why he has been absent from several council meetings this year.
He said he was having health issues and was under a doctor's care.
DiCarlo says he's feeling better.
"I am back, hopefully for good," says DiCarlo. "I am still working my way through some health issues, I have not been officially cleared but I guess my stubbornness put me back to work sooner than I probably should have."
He says he's grateful for the support from the community.
"The response from the residents has been absolutely incredible, overwhelming and humbling at the same time," says DiCarlo.
On Wednesday county council pulled a report from its agenda.
The report was asking council to approve a medical leave for DiCarlo.
Last month, Amherstburg council approved a three-month medical leave for DiCarlo.
He says he also plans to return to the town's council meetings.
