The Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation is confident a few new businesses will call Windsor-Essex home.
The company says the area has made the shortlist on four different files the corporation is currently working on.
CEO Stephen MacKenzie says those businesses range from manufacturing to IT.
He says he's confident two of the four businesses will come to the region.
"We've been working on them for a long time and really down to some fine details so pretty sure we'll have two and an outside chance we'll have three."
He says the corporation is in talks with a number of businesses.
"We got a Mexican prospect that's looking at setting up here," says MacKenzie. "We got a couple from Germany. We've got one from Switzerland. We got Canadian and we've got some U-S so really pleased."
The number of jobs vary for the four different files.
"From one I think it was 70, one is 10, one is 400 and one is over a five year plan, a couple hundred as well."
MacKenzie is hoping to have some good news early in the new year.
He updated the city's Executive Committee on Monday about the progress the corporation has made so far this year.
