Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Windsor-Essex and is pinpointing the worst times.
The forecast is calling for freezing rain to begin around 4am Wednesday and end around mid-morning, with the heaviest part of the storm between 6am and 7am.
Warning Preparedness Meteorologist, Marie-Eve Giguere says because there is very little snow on the ground, there's also a greater chance of black ice forming on the roads and highways across the area.
She says the freezing rain will last around 6 to 7 hours...
The freezing rain could persist for much of Wednesday before changing to rain in the afternoon.
