Two Windsor residents have been victims of a distraction scam where jewellery was taken.
The first incident happened on May 24 around 3:30 p.m. in the 700 clock of Argyle Road near Tuscarora Street.
According to police, a vehicle approached a home where an elderly woman was sitting on her porch. A woman from the car called out to the woman on the porch to ask for directions to a hospital.
As a token of her appreciation, the woman in the car tried to provide the victim with jewellery and in the process of placing a ring and necklace on the victim, took her personal necklace.
About an hour later, police were called to the 1800 block of Randolph Avenue near Totten Street, where an elderly man was cutting his grass when a car pulled up and a women held the male victim’s hand during an interaction.
When the car left, the man realized his wedding ring had been taken.
The driver is described as an older man with dark skin, tall, dark hair with a moustache and beard.
One of the women in the car is described as middle aged, with dark skin, a thick build, and was wearing an orange shirt.
The other woman is also described as having dark skin and being younger.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or believed they have been a victim of a similar crime are asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Back in April, a similar incident was reported where a person also had a necklace taken.
