Environment Canada warns temperatures will be hot and humid for the remainder of the Labour Day weekend

Looks like it will be hot and humid for the remainder of the Labour Day weekend as Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Windsor-Essex, Leamington and Chatham-Kent.

A hot and humid air mass will roll through the region Sunday spiking daytime temperatures to 31C through Wednesday, with overnight minimum temperatures remaining above 21 degrees providing little relief from the heat, according to Environment Canada.

Some relief will come Thursday as a cold front is expected to move through the area.

Environment Canada is reminding residents to never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle and to keep an eye on those most at risk such as young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, and people working or exercising outdoors.
