It's going to be a scorcher for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent this weekend.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for both Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures could hit a soupy 40 C (104 F) with the humidex.
Unseasonably warm temperatures and humidity are likely to carry over into next week.
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is also issuing a Heat Warning for region, stressing everyone is at risk from heat — especially older adults, infants and young children as well as people who work or exercise outside and those with medical conditions.
Residents should schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day, seek a cool place such as a tree-shaded area, swimming pool, shower or bath, or air-conditioned spot.
Environment Canada reminds everyone to never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
