Golden State downs the Rockets in series opener

Kevin Durant and the Warriors offense couldn't be slowed down as they went into Houston and beat the Rockets 119-106 in Game One of the Western Conference finals.

Durant went off for 37 points on 14-of-27 shooting to help Golden State take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Klay Thompson connected on six threes, including a dagger to put the Warriors up 10 with 3:54 left in the fourth quarter.  He ended with 28 points.

James Harden did all he could to keep Houston in the game, but his 41 points on 24 attempts with five from behind the arc wasn't enough.

The Rockets were outscored 107-to-85 after leading 21-12 midway through the first quarter.

Game Two is at the Toyota Center tomorrow night.
