Officials in Chatham-Kent are issuing a warning to people trespassing on the 5th Street bridge reconstruction project.
The downtown Chatham bridge over the Thames River closed last month and barriers and warning signs have been put up.
But there have been reports of people breaking down barriers or getting around them to walk or bike across the bridge.
The current bridge is being de-constructed from below and is deemed unsafe and at a high risk of danger.
Because of the way the work is being done, it can result in loose or unsecured parts of the structure that may not be visible from the top.
The replacement is expected to be in place and the road reopened before the end of the year.
