Don't expect any snow on the ground for the first week of the new year.
A weak system is moving over us, bringing warmer temperatures as the week goes on.
Environment Canada Meteorlogist Gerald Cheng says a southwest flow continues to keep us above normal temperatures:
"We do have a very weak system that is going through right now that's going to give us some flurries but after that, as we head into the weekend, it's smooth sailing," says Cheng. "If you don't like active weather, if you don't like snow and you prefer sunny skies and you prefer warmer temperatures, well that's on the way."
Cheng adds things will change next week as more precipitation is brewing:
"Everything will start to go downhill starting Monday," says Cheng. "There's a big system on the way next week, early next week, so we'll have to watch for what happens there."
The most snow on the ground for Windsor on this date, was in 2001 with 30cm or 12 inches.
