All staff and students were dismissed Friday after more students tested positive for COVID19

Staff and Students at Windsor's W.J. Langlois Catholic Elementary School have been dismissed due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board announced two cases of the virus that resulted in a cohort being sent home from the school at 3110 Rivard Ave.  Thursday morning.

Officials says two more cases were identified by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit Friday; forcing the schools closure under provincial guidelines.

The board says all students and staff will now self-isolate for 14 days and will be transitioning to online learning Monday morning.

It's the second school in Windsor-Essex to have a complete shut down due to COVID-19 this week.

The Greater Essex County District School Board sent home more than 430 students and staff at Windsor's Frank W. Begley Elementary School earlier this week.

A cohort of 24 students was dismissed from St. William Catholic Elementary School in Lakeshore Thursday night and a confirmed case of the virus was reported at Tecumseh Vista Academy - Elementary Friday.
