A LaSalle Strawberry Festival tradition continues Wednesday night as it hosts its annual strawberry cleaning.
Festival Co-Chair Sue Desjarlais says volunteers are needed to help clean about 300 flats of berries.
She says if you want to volunteer, just show up at the town's fire station on Normandy.
"We look for volunteers all the time," she says. "Please bring you own knife or cleaning utensil. We start at 6pm at the fire hall and whoever comes comes. It's a big social night for a lot of people which is great."
She points out the clean-up brings the community together as a lot of families take part.
"Some of the groups that help us over the weekend, Turtle Club for instance, Life After 50 and Stompers soccer, a lot of those folks will come out and help clean berries and get things ready so when we open on Thursday night, we've got strawberries and ice cream."
The berries are grown locally at Raymont's Berries in Cottam.
The 30th annual Strawberry Festival kicks off on Thursday at 6pm.
