The visiting St. Marys Lincolns took a surprise bite out of the LaSalle Vipers, beating the home side 4-2 on Wednesday night.
The Vipers built up a 2-0 lead before the Lincolns scored four unanswered goals to win the game at the Vollmer Centre in LaSalle.
Manny Silverio and Daniel Beaudoin had the goals for the Vipers, both coming in the first period. However, the Lincolns would storm back, scoring twice in each of the next periods to sow up the win.
The Vipers will be wondering what else they could have done after throwing 45 shots at the Lincolns net, including 17 in the second period — all of which St. Marys goalie Tristan Lewis turned aside in a 43 save performance.
LaSalle sits atop the Western Conference standings in the GOJHL with 55 points while St. Marys is way back in 8th in the conference with 23 points.
