The top-seed in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League Western Conference playoffs is on the brink of elimination.
Zach Guilbeault had a goal and an assist and Connor Meyerink made 39 saves as the Leamington Flyers beat the LaSalle Vipers 3-2 at the Vollmer Recreation Complex Wednesday to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 semifinal series.
Josh Pope-Ferguson and Dallas Maurovic also scored for the Flyers.
Game 6 goes Thursday night in Leamington.
Jack Bowler and Tyler Russell scored for the Vipers who outshot the Flyers 41-23.
LaSalle lost just four times in 25 home games during the regular season and is now 3-2 on home ice in the playoffs.
