The calendar may read October, but the LaSalle Vipers and Leamington Flyers had a playoff style game at the Vollmer Complex Wednesday night.
Tyler Russell scored 50 seconds into the second overtime to give the Vipers a 2-1 win over the Flyers.
Daniel Beaudoin scored the other goal for LaSalle and Josh Pope-Ferguson scored the Flyers' goal.
LaSalle out shot Leamington 35-24. Connor Meyerink made 32 saves for the Flyers, while Eli Billing stopped 24 shots.
The win was the Vipers' eighth in a row.
