Gabe Vilardi of the Spitfires has been recognized for his outstanding play, as he has been named the Ontario Hockey League's Player of the Week.
Vilardi was sensational Sunday afternoon at the WFCU Centre scoring three times and added a pair of assists to lead the Spits to a 7-1 victory over Sudbury.
Vilardi put up a total of nine points last week, as Windsor dumped the Soo, London and the Wolves to move to within two points of Owen Sound in the fight for fourth in the Conference.
The Spits will take on the OHL's top team Erie, Thursday night at the WFCU Centre.
