Windsor police have made an arrest in a downtown shooting last year.
Jason Pantlitz-Solomon, 20, was gunned down on Ouellette Ave. at University Ave. around 2:40am on Monday, August 27th.
The suspects took off and police were searching for two men wearing hoodies.
Solomon was a third-year criminology student at the University of Windsor but came from the Peel Region and investigators believed the shooting was a targeted incident.
A 19-year-old woman who was with Solomon was also hurt, but survived.
Police were able to identify a female suspect.
On Wednesday, Windsor went to the Peel Region and arrested the suspect without incident.
22-year-old Keima Davis-Baynes of Mississauga is charged with first-degree-murder and attempted murder.
Windsor police spokesperson Sergeant Steve Betteridge says this was the last unsolved murder from 2018.
He says the case was shocking to the community.
"A shooting right in our downtown core. And that should be concerning to all of our community and our goal since this call for service came in back in August has been to identify and hold those responsible in front of the courts."
Police say the case remains active.
