Windsor police are investigating the sudden death of a woman over the weekend.
On Sunday, December 30, 2018 around 2:15am, police were called to a home at 1715 Windemere Rd. near Seneca St. for a woman who appeared to be in medical distress.
She was taken to the hospital and around 4am, police confirm she passed away.
Officers contained the scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Sergeant Steve Betteridge says right now, this is not classified as a homicide.
"Our job on each case is to investigate to determine if there is any criminality and sometimes that is quickly determined and sometimes that takes some time and investigation," he says.
An autopsy is scheduled to help in the investigation.
Police released the scene Sunday afternoon.
