Windsor and Essex County residents are encouraged to think 'staycation' destinations this summer.
For the seventh year, Tourism Windsor-Essex-Pelee Island is holding its Staycation Expo in front of the Bay at Devonshire mall April 27-28.
25 exhibits are on hand to showcase some of what this region has to offer.
TWEPI also launched the 2018 official visitor guide which is about 10% bigger than last year.
"I think we are shifting more to a millennial audience," says TWEPI Vice-President Lynnette Bain. "When you look at what our guide this year is featuring, when we look at who our customers are on our website and through our social media channels, increasingly the millennial customers have more spending power, having more impact on tourism decisions and spending decisions."

She says based on the local hotel numbers, tourism is growing in Windsor-Essex.
"Even better than our occupancy being up is our rate is up, so that means more revenue is being driven," she says.
The guide contains 92 pages on local wineries, breweries, trails, festivals and arts and culture.
