The University of Windsor has launched a new recruitment campaign to attract the brightest students and faculty.
Called 'Windsor Proud', interim president Dr. Douglas Kneale says it is a "declaration of confidence" in what the university is accomplishing and confidence in the community.
It will feature billboards, videos, cinema ads and social media encouraging people to think Windsor.
The campaign will be in Windsor-Essex, southern Ontario, the Toronto area and Detroit this fall and winter.
"The University of Windsor is at the top of its game," says Dr. Kneale. "That's important because we know increasingly post-secondary education is a competitive environment. We compete for funding, we compete for the best and brightest students."
He points out unlike other similar size universities, the University of Windsor has a broad range of programs from the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Law and School of Social Work.
The university has about 16,000 students which Dr. Kneale says is a healthy and robust campus.
