Tea Party frontman Jeff Martin will be headlining part two of the YUNITY Front Porch Party.
Martin, who grew up in LaSalle, Ont. with fellow members of the multi-platinum group, will be broadcasting live from his home in Australia Saturday night.
It's the second show in the free online series hosted by LiUNA! Bluesfest Windsor and the Canadian Mental Health Association to raise spirits and promote mental heath services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Martin's been in the studio working on his solo album Cinnamon Rose for the past few months, and says it will be a welcome change to perform some live music for a good cause.
"I haven't actually performed for quite some time so this is a welcome excuse to do it and I'll probably end up doing some more of that in the near future," he says.
Preparing for Saturday night's show was a fun trip down memory lane, according to Martin.
"I got to revisit some songs from The Tea Party's catalogue that I haven't broached in quite some time, so it was a good exercise for the muscle memory," he added.
He tells AM800 News he has a wide selection of material ready to go.
"Some twists and turns thrown in for good measure, but I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag too much. You're going to have to tune in and see what happens," he says.
Part two of the YUNITY Front Porch Party gets underway Saturday at 8 p.m. on the Bluesfest's YouTube channel.
